“In nature, nothing exists alone,” said Rachel Carson, an American marine biologist, author, and environmentalist —a reflection that inspires this collection of textured works created from elements gathered in Chilean Patagonia and along the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea.
Being from the Mediterranean, my journey to Patagonia transformed my inner landscape, reconfiguring my perception of both the visible and invisible environment.
In these pieces, weathered plastics found in nature, beach sand, mountain soil, and marble dust are MERGED with oil paint, pigments, spray, and acrylic to form layers that tangibly reveal our environmental footprints. Each work is a QUEST, an exploration of nature as a mirror of our internal ecosystem and a living dialogue with the environment we inhabit.
