Laura Canal (b. 1993, Barcelona) is a Spanish artist based in Mataró, whose practice is shaped by the dialogue between the Mediterranean landscape and the industrial environment of the city. Working with found industrial materials and earth, she creates sculptural paintings that explore the transformation of matter.

Her works combine painting and sculpture through a physical process of layering, cutting, burning and assembling materials such as plastic, packaging, earth, sand and pigments. Influenced by the visual languages of Abstract Expressionism and Informalism, Canal explores tension between opposing forces, where artificial and natural, visible and concealed, coexist within the same surface.

Her work has been presented in national and international contexts at Artok Gallery, Palazzo Guiscardo, Pietrasanta, Italy (2026); Castelló 4 Gallery, Madrid, Spain (2025); Haba Gallery, Barcelona, Spain (2025); Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc, Barcelona, Spain (2025); Fundació Iluro, Mataró, Spain (2025); Copelouzos Family Art Museum, Athens, Greece (2025); W Soul Art Gallery, Munich, Germany (2023); and Parcus Gallery, Aistersheim, Austria (2023). In 2023, her work was also presented at Le Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, France, with Parcus Gallery. She was a finalist in the XI Abstract Art Salon of the AEPE, La Vaguada Exhibition Hall, Madrid, Spain (2026), and the City of Barcelona International Painting Prize at the Reial Cercle Artístic, Barcelona, Spain (2025). Her work has been featured in Forbes Spain and Europa Press (2024).
