LAURA CANAL BIO

Working with industrial waste and earth, the practice of Laura Canal (Barcelona, 1993) explores the tension between opposing forces through recycled materials transformed into sculptural paintings. Her work examines the relationship between human intervention and the natural world, transforming discarded and geological matter into reflections on inner and outer landscapes.

Her work has been presented in national and international contexts at Relais Villa Isabel, Pietrasanta, Artok Gallery (Italy), Castelló 4 (Spain), Cercle Artístic Sant Lluc (Spain), Fundació Iluro (Spain), the Carrousel du Louvre (France), Parcus Gallery (Austria), and the Copelouzos Family Art Museum (Greece), among others. She was a finalist in the XI Abstract Art Salon of the AEPE (Madrid, 2026) and the City of Barcelona International Painting Prize at the Reial Cercle Artístic (2025). Her work has been featured in media outlets including Forbes Spain and Europa Press.
