PHOTO BUEN JAVIER, 2026

Working with industrial and organic materials, the painting practice of Laura Canal (Barcelona, 1993) focuses on exploring the tension between opposing forces and materials. Driven by a deep interest in material processes, her work transcends the traditional boundaries of the pictorial support and enters territories where painting becomes body and stratification.

Her work has been presented in national and international contexts, with exhibitions in spaces such as Castelló 4 (Spain), Cercle Artístic Sant Lluc (Spain), Fundació Iluro (Spain), the Carrousel du Louvre (France), Parcus Gallery (Austria), and the Copelouzos Family Art Museum (Greece), among others. She was a finalist in the XI Abstract Art Salon of the AEPE (Madrid, 2026) and the City of Barcelona International Painting Prize at the Reial Cercle Artístic (2025). Her work has been featured in media outlets such as Forbes Spain and Europa Press.
